Christopher Elliot is a consumer advocate and journalist. And recently, he had featured our Rainforest Aerial Tram in St. Lucia in one of his blog post, St. Lucia from Above. Here's the content of the post:
Today’s adventure took us deep into the St. Lucian rainforest, where we caught a ride up the Rainforest Aerial Tram.
“Where are the skis?” asked my five-year-old son, Iden, who talks about the Vail trip as if it happened yesterday.
Alas, no skis. And no snow.
But it was an unbelievably beautiful ride into the clouds, through dense forests of fern, hardwood trees and ficus. Hummingbirds buzzed our gondola as we neared the top of the mountain, and then we turned and saw the most awe-inspiring view of the island; the Caribbean on one side, the Atlantic on the other.
I’ll have more pictures when I post the full story on National Geographic Traveler’s Intelligent Travel blog next week.
If you go to St. Lucia, you should try to make it out here to the tramway. If we had the time and if the kids were older, we would have hiked up the mountain or tried the zipline. Maybe next time.
Several readers have asked to see more St. Lucia photos. I’m happy to oblige. I’ve posted more on my Flickr page. I also wanted to share one more photo from Windjammer Landing.
Remember yesterday’s snapshot from the pool? I took it from the top row of villas on that hill. Pretty resort, isn’t it?
