Ocean to Ocean by Railway
Rainforest Adventures takes you to a scenic ride on board the Panama Canal Railway. The Panama Railroad was first built in 1855 and then rebuilt in 1909 during construction of the Panama Canal. For many years the railway provided an invaluable link between the Atlantic and Pacific. On your Panama tour, enjoy fantastic views of the busy Panama Canal whilst in the middle of deep tropical jungle.
Next in this Panama Canal tour is a scenic drive thru to the Former Canal Zone. This is the place where the military installations of the American administration are a gentle reminder of the strategic importance of the area. Today the former Zone is very much intact and is like a photographic image of what the days of the American Administration once were.
And finally is a guided visit to Gatun Locks. At this facility you may have the opportunity to watch gargantuan ships that make their way daily through the chambers of the Gatun Locks.
