Hidden Worlds is the Yucatan Peninsula's best known location for exploring the fascinating world of cenotes. Its system of underground caverns and waterways lay hidden within dense tropical foliage over many centuries. In the 1980s a small band of adventurous and environmentally active divers led by Gordon "Buddy" Quattlebaum followed up on the tales of these secret spaces, told to them by Mayan friends who spoke of a vast network of sparkling caverns and lakes hidden deep beneath the jungle floor (Hidden Worlds lies within special Mayan land reserves).
With great attention to the long-term preservation of nature's wealth, the cenotes of Hidden Worlds became known to scuba divers around the world through numerous magazine articles, guide books, television documentaries and even cinema.
Today the wonders of Hidden Worlds are available to everyone. The Hidden Worlds team has worked hard to provide an experience of the Riviera Maya's cenotes and surrounding flora and fauna that is safe, accessible and faithful to nature's original design; No paved roads, "simulated" caves or heavy commercialization. We do have a small and friendly jungle cafe serving delicious home-cooked lunches and a local crafts boutique operated by and for the local populace (check it out - their prices are really good!) but that's about the closest thing you'll find to anything commercial here.
So to experience a real nature park in the Riviera Maya, we invite you to come and play at Hidden Worlds Cenotes Park. Exciting, thrilling, astounding, fun-filled and family-friendly.
