Mexico’s Hidden Worlds Nature Park Joins Award-winning Rainforest Adventures
Oct. 30, 2012, Miami, FL – Rainforest Adventures is pleased to announce it has invested in Mexico’s Hidden Worlds, a popular Mexican nature park that features underground cave rivers – also known as cenotes – and other unique attractions in the Mayan Riviera.
Hidden Worlds, located in the Mayan jungle, is one of the Yucatan Peninsula’s best known locations for exploring the fascinating world of underground caves. Hidden Worlds features the world’s only Zip Coaster and Aero-Cycle. The Zip Coaster is a zipline adventure – designed to emulate the thrills of a roller-coaster – that weaves through the jungle before entering the darkness of a cave and terminating with a splash in the water. The Aero-Cycle is a bicycle suspended on a zipline and powered by pedalling through the rainforest canopy to the underground caves.
“We are excited to welcome Hidden Worlds into the Rainforest Adventures family of sustainable adventure parks,” says Josef Preschel, president of Rainforest Adventures. “Hidden Worlds shares our commitment to educate our visitors on our amazing natural environments in fun and exciting ways, and together, we will enhance Hidden Worlds’ experiences with our operational expertise.”
As part of this new venture, Rainforest Adventures will be assisting with management and training personnel at Hidden Worlds; package and ticket sales have already been integrated into the Rainforest Adventures website. And, tour operators and wholesalers will continue to work with the Hidden Worlds sales team. Over the next few months, Rainforest Adventures will help to improve all aspects of Hidden Worlds’ operations, including in-park systems and sustainability measures, an area for which Rainforest Adventures is considered a world leading expert.
“We wanted to ensure that Hidden Worlds has the expertise it needs to preserve our nature park including the world-famous underground caves, and continue our legacy of supporting the environment, our employees and community, while enhancing the adventure experience for our guests,” says Greg Kreyer, general manager of Hidden Worlds. “We chose Rainforest Adventures as our partner for their knowledge of sustainable practices and operational expertise, which will ensure that Hidden Worlds will continue providing top quality experiences to guests from around the world.”
Information on the future improvements and changes to Hidden Worlds will be made available on the Rainforest Adventures blog, blog.rainforestadventure.com
