MIAMI (May 4, 2011) – Rain Forest Adventures Mystic Mountain in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, invites cruise passengers docking at the new Falmouth port to an unforgettable day of high-flying adventures and sporty island culture.

The mountain-top attraction, which pays homage to the historic Jamaican Olympic Bobsled Team with its Rainforest Bobsled Jamaica, creates a day excursion ideal for all ages and ability levels, with hospitality that’s pure Jamaica.

The Rain Forest Adventures Mystic Mountain experience begins with a Sky Explorer ride to the peak of Mystic Mountain, which is handicap accessible. Riders soak in the view over Ocho Rios harbor as they climb through the forest canopy and breathe in mountain mists.

At the top, guests disembark and choose their next adventure. They can zoom through a jungle zip line course, twist and turn on the Rainforest Bobsled Jamaica (complete with commemorative photo), or splash down the Lighthouse Waterslide into the infinity edge pool.

An open-air Jamaica sport museum chronicles the successes of island athletes. Mystic Dining restaurant awaits with culinary treats, while the gift shop offers island mementos, including the famous Blue Mountain coffee. On any given day, painters and performers can be seen putting on a show atop Mystic Mountain. Usain Bolt, three-time Olympic gold medalist, has often been spotted visiting Rain Forest Adventures Mystic Mountain.

The park offers roundtrip transportation between Falmouth port (a 75-minute drive). Attractions range from $46 - $137 USD per person.

Falmouth port represents a joint project between Royal Caribbean cruise line and the government of Jamaica as a new site to access the island between Ocho Rios and Montego Bay. The 250 year-old town was once home to the largest plantations in the Caribbean and is rich in history. Falmouth first welcomed Royal Caribbean ships in late February.

About Rain Forest Adventures

The original Rain Forest Aerial Tram Atlantic was established in 1994 in Costa Rica by H.J. Von der Goltz, a visionary and nature lover. It was the first operation of its kind anywhere in the world, with a unique requirement: it had to be built in the middle of 1,200 acres of dense jungle without impacting the forest. Today, five Rain Forest Adventures parks are located in Costa Rica (Pacific and Atlantic), Saint Lucia, Dominica and Jamaica, serving as wildlife reserves and ecotourism attractions. The exceptional combination of attractions such as the Tram ride, Bobsled and Zip Line plus the experience, training and commitment of a multi-lingual and naturalist guides guarantees an educational, adventurous and unforgettable experience for guests.
