MIAMI, FLORIDA (November 30, 2010) – Rain Forest Adventures Costa Rica Atlantic and Pacific parks have achieved Certification for Sustainable Tourism (CST) Level 5, the highest tier, from the Costa Rica Tourism Board.  This marks the eco-adventure parks’ successful natural, cultural and social resource management.

“It is an honor to be recognized in Costa Rica’s top sustainable tourism sites,” said Eugenia Solano, general manager for Rain Forest Adventures Costa Rica Atlantic and Pacific.  “Our teams at each park can take great pride in knowing their tremendous effort earned this certification.”

The Certification for Sustainable Tourism (CST) is a program that categorizes and certifies tourism businesses in Costa Rica, with the goal of demonstrating sustainability within their operations. It measures the balanced interaction and appropriate use of natural resources and culture, improvement of the quality of life within local communities, and the economic success of the industry, which leads to overall national development.  Visit for more information.

Rain Forest Adventures is only the seventh tour operator in Costa Rica to achieve Level 5 Certification for Sustainable Tourism.  Located on opposite coasts of Costa Rica, the Atlantic and Pacific parks each showcase the protected rainforest through aerial trams, zip lines, hiking and bird watching programs.

About Rain Forest Adventures

The original Rain Forest Aerial Tram Atlantic was established in 1994 in Costa Rica by H.J. Von der Goltz, a visionary and nature lover. It was the first operation of its kind anywhere in the world, with a unique requirement: it had to be built in the middle of 1,200 acres of dense jungle without impacting the forest. Today, five Rain Forest Adventures parks are located in Costa Rica (Pacific and Atlantic), Saint Lucia, Dominica and Jamaica, serving as wildlife reserves and ecotourism attractions. The exceptional combination of attractions such as the Tram ride, Bobsled and Zip Line plus the experience, training and commitment of a multi-lingual and naturalist guides guarantees an educational, adventurous and unforgettable experience for guests.
